On Day 1, arrive at the tranquil village of Hoongla, tucked away in the scenic highlands of Arunachal Pradesh. Upon arrival, you will receive a warm traditional welcome at Hoongla Inn, your homestay that beautifully blends local culture with comfort. The rest of the day is at your leisure. In the evening, gather around a cozy bonfire where our friendly team will share fascinating local stories and folklore, giving you a glimpse into the soul of the region. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight stay at Hoongla Inn.
On Day 2, after a wholesome breakfast, set out on a full-day excursion to the remote and stunning border village of Zemithang, located near the Indo-Tibetan border. This journey takes you through high-altitude terrain up to 3,500 meters, offering breathtaking views and chances to spot unique wildlife and birds along the way. Visit the historic Kenzimane post, where His Holiness the Dalai Lama first entered India in 1959. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic mountain spot, surrounded by untouched natural beauty. On the return trip, stop at Gorsam Chorten, the tallest stupa in the region, standing at nearly 100 feet and offering a moment of quiet reflection. Return to Hoongla by evening and unwind at your own pace. Overnight stay at Hoongla Inn.
Day 3 is designed for cultural immersion and relaxation. After a leisurely breakfast, take a short trip to Lumla Bazaar and nearby villages. Spend the day engaging with the local community, learning about their traditional lifestyle, crafts, and farming practices. Walk through terraced landscapes, explore traditional homes, and witness firsthand the simplicity and richness of rural Himalayan life. Return to the inn and enjoy a quiet evening. Overnight stay at Hoongla Inn.
On Day 4, enjoy an early breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive to the Indo-Bhutan border, approximately two hours away. Explore the peaceful Baileng village and visit the beautiful Gyalwa Jamba Monastery, home to an impressive statue of Gyalwa Jamba. Later, head to the serene banks of the Tawangchu River for a delightful picnic lunch by the water, surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, explore the nearby forests and waterfalls of Bomja village, an area rich in natural charm and tranquility. Return to Hoongla Inn in the evening and relax by the bonfire, sharing stories and reflections from the day. Overnight stay at Hoongla Inn.
On Day 5, after breakfast, check out from Hoongla Inn and begin your onward journey to either Tawang or Dirang town, carrying with you unforgettable memories of your journey through the heart of Arunachal.
